Trip The Light Fantastic Watch

I’ve had my Pimp watch for a couple of years now and have yet to see anything I like better.  In place of numerals it uses a grid of 72 red, orange and green LEDs. You push in the button to see the time, with hours are read one to twelve up the left hand side, and the 60 smaller lights on the left each representing a minute.

At first I thought it might become tedious figuring out the number of minutes. but because they are arranged in rows of five your eye tends to read the number of fully lit lines and then add the remaining incomplete line number. After using it for a few weeks I was able to read the time from it instantly without thinking about it.

I was dubious when I got it about how long the battery would last, as the lights come on once every minute with a random light display. I was pleasantly surprised that it has required a change only once per year. I went with the black one which has an impressive anodized finish which hasn’t scratched, and the only complaint two years in is that the button has fallen off and will need to be replaced.
