Puk wrist rest

The Puk is a wrist rest that glides along under your arm as you move the mouse. It’s hard to appreciate until you’ve tried it, but when you consider that regular stationary gel-rests stop you moving your arm and make you do the annoying pick up the mouse and lift it backwards thing it all begins to make sense.

The top of the has a rubbery stress ball type feel and is surprisingly comfortable, while the hard plastic of the base is made from something clever which makes it glide along effortlessly. The story goes that it was a gamer who thought it up, having finally reached level 40 with his wizard only to find he could no longer use his wrists.

The company is pitching it to advertisers and I wouldn’t be surprised if we start seeing corporate branded ones of these given out before long. The first web 2 startup to get them distributed round VCs and tastemakers may see some interest sparked, as once this is on someones desk they’ll keep it forever.

The only criticism from me is that I chose the white one but was accidentally sent blue. I emailed customer service and they promptly sent me out a white one and I was happy. As it turns out I’ve switched back to the blue one as the white one looked grubby very quickly. It’s that type of rubber that collects smudges and specks of dirt, so go for one of the fun colours.

Puk, £6.50 including postage in the UK, £6.85 inc to Europe, £7.30 inc rest of world.

I have one of these at home, and one at work, within 15 minutes I could feel the difference, they’re great! Plus, they allow the mouse to flow freely whilst gaming. Recommended to another woman at work who has rsi, and she loves them too now, great little invention.
